Last Friday my garage door stopped working and had come off the track and was all mangled up. I quickly got my car out and called American Home Shield (my garage door is cover but found out its just he motor and not the door). They send someone Saturday and they gave me a quote for replacing the door for over $900. Called few more places and they all came and told me I needed a new door from $750 – $1500.
Suddenly I looked in my Recommendation folder and found an email that recommended Hollywood Overhead. I left a message Sunday and I got a call Monday before 8 am. If I was going to replace the door, I was going to go local and support the community. They send a tech by 9 am and got a quote of $130 to fix it. NO ONE else said it could be repaired. Needless to say I jumped on that offer. When I came home at 4 pm, the door worked so well and looked so good, I thought its was new (the tech had replaced all the rollers & cleaned & oiled up track).
I am so impressed with their service and honestly and going the extra mile.

My garage door torsion spring snapped and I needed to get both of them replaced. I called 3 companies, Welborn, Overhead Door, and Hollywood. Welborn and Overhead Door sent representatives out to give me an estimate. Hollywood gave me an estimate over the phone after i described the problem in detail. When they came out, the representatives from the other two companies tried to sell me a new door instead of fix my existing door for MANY hundreds more than the cost to repair. After I declined getting a new door, they provided quotes for the repair. Overhead Door was 50% more than Hollywood and Welbon was 100% MORE. Welborn then asked me if they could match the price would I choose them. I asked them, “”why would I choose a company that tried to rip me off over a company that gave me an honest price to begin with?”” So I chose Hollywood and they came out and they were at my house within an hour. He came in and replaced the torsion springs quickly. It was very obvious he had been doing this for a VERY long time. He also tuned up the other parts of the door (tracks, hinges, etc…) as part of the service. The other companies wanted to charge extra for a tune up so I didn’t even ask them to quote on it. Hollywood did a great job!!! at by far the best price and I don’t think either of the other two companies could have done any better job. All around an OUTSTANDING job!!! This is my first review post. I actually took the time to write a review because I hope Hollywood gets more business and I hope Welborn gets what they deserve for trying to gouge their customers.

I was unable to manually open my garage door during a power outage. I’m sure that there were a lot of other calls from people like me, but a serviceman came to my home the day that I called Hollywood Door. He adjusted the tracks and lubricated the door and spurs. When this company installed the door in 2006, the installer neglected to attach the lock and handle to the door. My serviceman corrected this problem.

Many, many years ago we replaced an old attic fan assembly with a pull down stair unit to convert our attic into usable storage. We used Hollywood Overhead Doors as we were also doing some garage door work at the same time. However, attic stairs was something they offered and we bought the stair unit from them and they installed it. We lived in that house over 20 years with no issues so guess they knew what they were doing!

We had Hollywood Door out on Friday. Good work and prices. We will use them again. They were out the day after we called them. They were running late for the appointment and called to let us know. I also used Hollywood Door, (214.348.7240). Yes, it would be dangerous to try to repair yourself as the spring can recoil when taken apart. Also, don’t be surprised if they recommend replacing bothsprings. The other spring is likely weak and would not perform well with just replacing the broken one.i
